John Rowlands Threatens a Woman

ALLEGED BLACKMAILING IN ANGLESEY.
SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A YOUNG LAD.

At the Llanerchymedd Petty Sessions, on Monday, John Rowlands, Tyddyn Bach, Llanerchymedd, was charged on remand by P.C.O. Williams with menacingly demanding money from an old lady, 71 years of age,
between twelve and two o'clock on the morning of the 20th inst. The prisoner, who is only about 15 years of age, went by the house of the old lady and demanded 5 pounds, or that he would set fire to the haystack,
would let the cows loose, and would kill the old lady in a Jack-the-Ripper fashion with a knife he showed through the window. She gave him 1 pound through the window. The prisoner was committed for trial to the sessions.
