Murphy Arrested Empty Murphy Arrested

Post by Karen Fri 8 Oct 2010 - 1:33

A description, regarded as important, was given to the police last night of a man who was seen with Mary Janet Kelly at two o'clock on the morning of Friday last, shortly before she was murdered at Miller's-court, Spitalfields. A man named Murphy, who was behaving strangely in the Holborn wards on Monday night, and had a large knife with him, has been arrested. Several men who, while drunk, had charged themselves with being the murderer, were brought before the magistrates yesterday and sent to gaol for fourteen days without having the option of a fine.
