HORRIBLE NEW YORK MURDERS.
IMITATION OF WHITECHAPEL CRIMES.

Telegraphing from New York a correspondent of the Daily Mail says - A number of crimes have occurred of late in the East side of New York, which recall the exploits of "Jack the Ripper" in Whitechapel. The police, indeed, are of opinion that these assassinations are the work of one individual. Like "Jack the Ripper," the murderer selects his victims from among the unfortunate class. The latest is a Polish Jewess named Anna Meyers, who was found strangled in her room. She was a friend and compatriot of another woman who was done to death in a similar manner about three weeks ago.

Notes From America.

The Whitechapel criminal has much to answer for outside his own terrible crimes, unless he is ubiquitous, as some newspaper reporters would have us believe. This morning, what is called a Ripper crime, on all fours with those committed in the East-end of London, was perpetrated at Camden, opposite Philadelphia, the victim being a hospital nurse.
