The 2 Inspectors Named Swanson Empty The 2 Inspectors Named Swanson

Recently, there has been some discussion of the possibility of there having been 2 Inspectors with the name Swanson in London at the same time. I discovered that, indeed, there were 2 Inspectors named Donald Swanson. Since they originated from the same place in Scotland, I assume that the first Inspector is the father of the second Inspector:

The 2 Inspectors Named Swanson Empty Uncle and Nephew Swanson

Post by Karen Mon 25 Apr 2011 - 1:17

Apparently, the elder Inspector Donald Swanson was the uncle of Inspector Donald Sutherland Swanson:

LEFROY'S CAPTURER.

Inspector Swanson, whose name has been made so prominent in connection with the arrest of Lefroy, bears the soubriquet among his colleagues of "Lucky Swanson." The nephew of a detective also an inspector, he is young, and has done some clever things. It was he who succeeded in tracing and recovering the Countess of Bective's jewels - a most profitable piece of work, for the Earl gave him as reward 200 pounds. He expects to share in the reward offered for the arrest of Lefroy, if the young City clerk, who is already bothering members of Parliament to get him his money down but not to reveal his name, does not anticipate him.
