TRARALGON POLICE COURT.
WEDNESDAY, 5TH FEB.

(Before Messrs. Lousada and Mackay, J's. P.)
INSULTING BEHAVIOUR.

Samuel M'Allister was charged on remand with insulting behaviour. Prisoner pleaded guilty. Senior-Constable Keon gave evidence that about 8 a.m. on 31st ult. prisoner came to the police station and said he was "Jack the Ripper" and he had been chased by over two hundred men at the Tyers. Witness said that the accused was under the influence of drink, and he told him to go away and have a sleep. Prisoner replied that if he was not locked up he would do something serious. He was put in the lock-up, and soon after had a very bad attack of delirium tremens. A doctor had to be called in, and the expense to the Government was over 2 pounds.
A fine of 5s. or three days was inflicted.
