Claim Reds Teach German Children Jesus Is "Myth."

BERLIN (AP) - The Roman Catholic Church charged that the two million school children in Communist East Germany are being taught history from "Godless books" which say Jesus Christ is the "mythical founder" of Christianity.
Petrus Blatt, official publication of the Berlin diocese, asked "When will these historic lies disappear from the school books throughout the Soviet Zone?" The diocese embraces 663,000 Catholics in both East and West Berlin.
The paper singled out history of the Middle Ages written by a Russian professor, E.A. Kosminski, as one of the standard text books for schools in the Communist zone.
"In this book," the paper added, "Jesus Christ is described as the mythical founder of the Christian religion."
