Mary Jane Kelly's Real Name - WALSH

This article is quite an amazing discovery as it contains the transcript of a letter signed "Jack the Ripper" which was received by the Chronicle in Brussels. In the letter, the author discusses the murder in London of Mary Walsh. I would like to point out, that in my books, I did make the discovery that Mary Jane's mother's maiden name was Walsh and the relative that was on the London stage was her mother's sister Kate Walsh, who was the wife of the Earl of Euston.

From Rozendaal is reported:

Since Monday the rumor started here by word of mouth, is that on Thursday a man from London will come to Rozendaal, who had to murder three women. Some added that there were secret police ensured. Among the lower-classes, people did believe this rumor, and the heart was afraid to meet the grim days to come. There were even among the women, who all day Thursday did not leave their beds. The men took their children out of school to bring them home, and in the evening no one in the neighborhood could be seen in the street. The doors were closed tightly, with some even barricaded.

Obviously had not seen Jack the Ripper. La Chronique, in Brussels, has received a letter from England also, where the author reports that he will come to Brussels in a few days to murder thirteen women and that he hopes to find the police so stupid as when they didn't discover him, for his murder of Mary Walsh. The horrible farce layman Jack the Ripper - the name of this bandit, who has killed in London - and the letter was written in clean English and stained with blood. I'm interested in Mary Kelly's identity and the person you have identified as Mary Kelly. Her alleged son also interests me.

The Earl of Euston's real name is Henry James Fitzroy which sets off a bell with me because I believe the father of Mary's son might be Sir Arthur Sullivan, a close friend of the Earl's daughter, Lady Coutts Lindsay (Caroline Blanche Elizabeth Fitzroy).
Do you have any opinion on Mary's child or Arthur Sullivan's possible connection to all this as a figure on the London stage, a frequenter of prostitutes, a Freemason and friend of the Fitzroys?

Yes I do find all of this fascinating since I also see a link with Sir Arthur Sullivan and Michael Maybrick, viz:

- both Sullivan and Maybrick were Grand Organists for the United Grand Lodge of England
- both were Freemasons

The possibility of Sir Arthur Sullivan being the father of Mary's son is probable, but having had liasons with many other men, Mary's son's father could have been a man that she married in Ireland, or even Wales.

Wouldn't that depend on the age of the child? The boy has been reported to be either 6 years old or 10 years old in 1888.
If her husband from Wales or Ireland died around 1880 as is alleged, then only a 10 year old child could be his.
Mary was reported to be in London by at least 1884 when she went to Paris with a unknown gentleman. If she arrived in 1881 or 1882, the father could be any of the Marlborough men...

That is certainly plausible, IF she arrived in London in 1881 or 1882. The father could be any number of prominent men in society, or not. Without a valid birth certificate which lists the father's name, it is difficult to speculate at this early stage, when we are not even certain that Mary Jane Kelly is the woman who was murdered in Miller's Court. Abberline stated that the victim's name was Winifred May Collis.
