Another desperate murder has been committed in Whitechapel, the ghastly details of which were placed before the public today. The victim was Mary Jane Kelly, aged twenty-five, whose mutilated remains were found yesterday morning at 10:30 at Miller court, Dorset street, Spitalfields, by a rent collector named Bower. The last seen or heard of the woman was at one o'clock on Friday morning, and by whom she was butchered remains a mystery. A telegram which we publish this evening states that Sir Charles Warren has offered a free pardon "to any accomplice, not being a person who contrived or actually committed the murder;" but this will scarcely be a sufficient encouragement to secure the production of evidence leading to the apprehension of the fiend who committed the shocking deed. A rumour prevailed in Limerick today that the murdered woman was in some way connected with the city, where it is said her parents at one time resided; but this may be found to be one of those vague reports which are so freely circulated on occasions such as this. However, we are informed that the police in this city have been communicated with, and that inquiries are now being instituted, to ascertain the truth or otherwise of the rumour in question.
