Notice of Rewards to Cabmen
THE DYNAMITE PLOTS.
The following handbill has been issued from the Criminal Investigation Department, Scotland-yard: -
"Metropolitan Police. - Notice to Cabmen. - 1 pound reward. - Wanted, the driver of a cab who, about seven p.m., Wednesday, 20th February, took up at the main line exit at Waterloo station two men of the following description who arrived from Southampton: - 1st, age 29, height 5ft. 10in., large round face, light brown hair and slight moustache, dress light tweed suit and soft felt hat, military appearance. 2nd, age 30, height 5ft. 5in., hair and full beard brown, small features, short thick neck, dress light brown mixture suit, black fur cap, white muffler. Had with them a large brown American trunk covered with stamped leather, bound with iron, oval top, and a bundle of clothing tied up in a black cotton cloth with leather strap. Information to Chief Superintendent Williamson, Great Scotland-yard, who will pay the above reward.
"1 pound Reward. - The above reward will be paid by Chief Superintendent Williamson, Great Scotland-yard, to the driver of the hansom cab who at about eight p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 1884, drove to the Waverley Hotel, Great Portland-street, a man, aged 40, middle height, moustache (rather long), fair, hair light brown, dress dark cutaway coat, dark trousers, black ribbed overcoat, round felt hat. He had with him a black portmanteau.
"1 pound Reward. - The above reward will be paid by Chief Superintendent Williamson to the driver of a cab who took up a man age 40, height middle, moustache (rather long) fair, hair light brown; dress, black cutaway coat and dark trousers, black ribbed overcoat, hard felt hat, in Great Portland-street, between 6 and 7 p.m., 25th February, 1884, and supposed drove to Victoria or Paddington railway station with a black portmanteau and black shiny bag."
